- At various times through the night the crowd would pledge their allegiance to either the Chicago Bears or the New Orleans Saints. ''Who Dat?!'' and the Chicago Bear fight song were heard all night.
- I never peed. Ever. Not all night. After the wedding I talked to my MOH who said she was waiting all night for me to grab her and make her help me pee. I just didn't pee. For 10 hours.
- The babies! Marcello and Maris are my cousin's kids. Marcello is absolutely gorgeous and absolutely 2. Maris is a pudgy little dream baby who is constantly smiling. She's not even 1. Our newest niece Lorigan who is beautiful and ready to talk even though she's only 3 months old. I'm so excited we're going to Chicago to have a taste of her first Christmas. Stevie isn't a baby, but deserves a mention. He was our ''bell ringer''. We weren't sure if he was going to have the guts, but he tore it up!
- And cause I have to talk about it again. My dad. My sweet, sweet father who didn't think he was going to cry. Who months before the wedding my mom and sisters would tell him he was going to cry while he stood big and tall and said no he wasn't. Who practically burst out crying the second he saw me in my dress. The dress he didn't even want to know about, because he wanted to be surprised. He will always be the first man I loved.
- We had switched our accounts a couple months before the wedding. I gave Joel a list of all the services we had to switch automatic payments with. I failed to mention the cell phone bill. So I woke up the day of my wedding with NO cell phone service. And my debit card was with Joel who was not with me for obvious reasons. The problem was fixed, but it happened.
- My makeup artist was an hour late. AN HOUR LATE! I knew the ceremony wasn't going to start on time, but I never imagined it was going to be because I wasn't ready.
- My older girl cousins came through when I never expected them to or asked them to. They were truly awesome.
- On the topic of unexpected help; the boyfriends. My SIL and cousin had their boyfriends stay at the house with us. They helped IMMENSELY. Even after the bachelor party when Joel was too drunk to function and wound up falling asleep on Eric, his sister's boyfriend.
- And on the topic of the bachelor party... I have NEVER seen Joel that drunk. EVER. And we have gotten really drunk together. That was just... well, never again.
- Dancing with my grandpas. My Abuelito is sick with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. My Abuelito Carlos lives in Guatemala, and I haven't seen him in 10 years. These were VERY special moments for me.
Our marriage has been great this past month. I can't believe we're finally married. Everyday I wake up and feel so fortunate that I get to call Joel my husband. He has made me the happiest person just by being in my life. I know no one loves me the way he does. I thank God for him.
We just decorated for our first married Christmas. The house looks amazing! I'll post pics tomorrow. Just have to get a few final details done. Like the wreathe, which has been quite the little headache! DIYing is tedious!
